About

Marko Alastalo works with performance, live art, media art, music and audio art, experimental theatre, and community art. He is interested in the processes of interaction between the individual and the system, and the associated bodily experiences. The interest manifests itself in different ways in his works, such as the use of the functional properties of sites, interaction created through biofeedback, and engaging the audience or community to participate in the creation of the performance.

Alastalo also works as a teacher. During his career, he has been teaching music theory, composing, and musical theatre, aiming to integration between those disciplines. The key concept in his pedagogy is student-centered learning.
